The World School project is a proposed self-sustaining
educational system that would focus on disadvantaged regions and peoples. Examples: ◊ The Romany people have been long been victimized and discriminated against and still are in countries such as Romania. ◊ Women are treated as second-class citizens or as property in many cultures, notably in the middle-east, and are often denied education. ◊ The people of Haiti are in dire straits for many reasons and increasing illiteracy is one of the underlying causes. ◊ War torn regions such as Darfur would also be a focus of the World School project.
